Salmon with Rice


There are times in life when you don’t have access to a stove or an oven. But that doesn’t mean you have to give up on tasty food! Au contraire: It is even possible to make salmon with rice in the microwave.

The only thing you really gotta take of is: make sure the fish is fully cooked. So please if you see that the fish is not done, increase the microwave time. 

Basically same with the rice. It really depends on what rice you are using. While white rice doesn't need so long to cook, brown rice needs ALOT longer. I suggest using white rice when preparing it in the microwave. I haven't tried it with brown rice yet and I am not sure it will work the same way.

Salmon with Rice
Ingredients
  • 1 piece of salmon
  • 1/2 cup rice
  • 1/4 onion
  • 1 tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp. white wine
  • salt, pepper, dill
Instructions
1. Put rice into a microwaveable container and add 1 cup of water.2. Put it into the microwave: 800 W / 12 minutes. (cooking time depends on the rice you use).3. Chop onions. Season salmon with salt, pepper, dill, lemon juice and white wine. Put this and the onions into a little microwaveable container.4. When the rice is ready, add the little container with the salmon to the rice container.5. Put it into the microwave again: 800 W / 4 minutes Optional: Add some self-made Sauce Béarnaise.
