We all know Chili Cheese Nuggets and love them! But is it possible to make them at home?
Of course! And it’s extremely simple aswell.
In the time of fast food restaurants we can get chili cheese nuggets at every turn. But for my thinking these are extremely expensive. At least here in Germany. So I researched a bit and found this super tasty and simple recipe. Do you wanna know a secret? The first time I did them I got one! O-N-E chili cheese nugget to try! My husband ate them ALL! ;-)
At least that was a good sign I thought. And it was. I had to do them 3 times in a row until he's had enough :-)
If you want to do a high number of chili cheese nuggets, use some freezer bags to coat the nuggets with breadcrumbs. It’ll save you time!

Chili Cheese Nuggets
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups cheese (e.g. cheddar)
- 2 chilis / jalapeños
- flour
- eggs
- breadcrumbs
- salt, pepper, paprika powder
Instructions
1. Take the cheese and melt it. Do this either using a microwave or a waterbath on your stove.
Attention: Please note that if you are using a microwave, the cheese will burn quickly. So use the microwave carefully.2. Chop the big chilis or jalapeños into thin slices.3. When the cheese is ready, mix it with the chilis or jalapeños. Stir well.4. Put some clear film into a box and add the spicey cheese. Wrap the clear film around the cheese so it can’t run dry. Put it into the fridge for at least 1 hour.5. Take the cheese out of the fridge and and cut it into little nuggets.6. Coat the nuggets with (1) flour, (2) egg, (3) breadcrumbs. (Additionally you can add some salt, pepper and paprika season to the eggs).7. Now pull out a pan and deep-fry the nuggets for 2-3 minutes on each side.
