Mozzarella Sticks


Who doesn’t love Mozzarella Sticks? Well, we ADORE them! Tell me you are serving mozzarella sticks on saturday and I will be there! Period. That easy!

But they get kinda expensive once you buy them alot at the store. So we tried doing them on our own. And it worked! and the best: homemade Mozzarella Sticks can be filled with whatever your heart desires! Of course, don't forget the mozzarella <.<

We’ve tried it with spinach, ham and paprika - and we love it! I have tried alot of methods to make mozzarella sticks in my life, trust me, but none were as near as tasty and easy as these here. 



On the pictures you can see how easy it is to coat them once they are frozen. That also makes it very easy to prepare them a day or two before you actually need them. I always have some in the freezer if someone needs some "Emergency-Mozzarella Sticks" ;-)

Now that I am writing this I am wondering what else I could stuff these with? I'll probably just make some plain ones also, not everyone wants spinach or ham in their mozzarella sticks.

Mozzarella Sticks with Spinach
Ingredients
  • 200g grated mozzarella cheese
  • 200g cream cheese
  • 100g cooked leaf spinach
  • Salt, pepper, nutmeg, garlic powder
  • Coating: Flour, eggs, breadcrumbs
Instructions
.1. Put grated mozzarella into a bowl. Add the cream cheese.2. Now add the spinach to the grated mozzarella and cream cheese.3. Season with the spices written above. Stir well.4. Now get some baking paper and spread the cheese mass on it. Make sure the baking paper is in a size that fits into your freezer. If not - adjust it. Spread the cheese mass well - as if you wanted to make a big pizza (see video below).5. Now put the mass into the freezer for at least 30 minutes6. After 30 minutes get the mass and cut it into little sticks7. Now take the sticks and coat it with breadcrumbs. For this toss the sticks into the flour, then the eggs, and then breadcrumbs. Repeat once to strengthen the coating.8. Now deep-fry the coated sticks with a pan and deep-frying fat.

Ingredients
  • 200g grated mozzarella cheese
  • 200g cream cheese
  • 150g ham cubes
  • 1/2 bell pepper, cut into cubes
  • Salt, pepper, garlic powder
  • Coating: Flour, eggs, breadcrumbs
Instructions
.1. Put grated mozzarella into a bowl. Add the cream cheese.2. Now add the ham cubes and bell pepper to the grated mozzarella and cream cheese.3. Season with the spices written above. Stir well.4. Now get some baking paper and spread the cheese mass on it. Make sure the baking paper is in a size that fits into your freezer. If not - adjust it.
